Wake Robin began in the winter of 2014 when Holly Riley, Emily Damrel and Mark Dillon began songwriting, performing and recording together. Wake Robin takes a great deal of pride in presenting both original and classic acoustic music from the Southeast United States. Each of the three musicians has long histories of performing professionally in various genres of music, and each of the three musicians has worked extensively in both performing and education. Holly Riley is a well know area fiddler that has played with favorite local bands Bethesda Bluegrass and Yer’ Crooked Cousins. In the summer of 2015 she released her first solo album. Holly is currently studying ethnomusicology at Florida State University and works with young musicians learning acoustic music. Emily Damrel is composition and education major at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and plays bass with several area orchestras and ensembles. Mark Dillon has a long history as a songwriter and plays in several area bands. As an educator, he works with young musicians in various genres of music and serves on the Leadership Board of the International Bluegrass Music Association. Wake Robin takes a great deal of pride in bringing high energy to the stage and always leave audiences asking for more.
